The Glorpian Empire
The illustrious Glorpian Empire is an industrious nation ruled by religious elites called the Golden Path. They have ruled since the death of the one and only Emperor Glorp Al’kir in 39 AG. In recent years, the empire’s iron grip has slackened. The fringes are slipping out of the control of the capital in the frozen north.

Over 700 years ago, a young deep gnome, Glorp Al’kir, led a pilgrimage to the surface from his home deep underground. The visions which led him out of the darkness failed to prepare him for the glorious sight of Squelch’s three suns. He emerged onto snowy plains in the perpetual twilight of summer in northern Herot.
It was there, with frozen tears streaking from unblinking eyes, that Glorp was visited by Qoxla, the feathered serpent of the Sun. Qoxla foretold that Glorp would unite all of Herot before the twilight of his youth. Thus Glorp, with his followers from underground, embarked on a holy war against all of the surface dwelling natives of Herot. After twelve grueling years, the continent was at last united under the banner of a new empire.
In the year 13 AG, to commemorate the fulfillment of Qoxla’s prophecy, Glorp Al’kir Commissioned a new flag for the fledgling empire. The design is still in use to this day, some 740 years later. It depicts the moment of Glorp’s emergence: white snowy field, suns cresting, horizon aglow, and twelve sun spots for each year of the war which united us.
